The bible
At new wine church, we believe that the bible is the divinely inspired word of god that is without error in its original writings and are complete in revelation of his will for the salvation of man and is the final authority for all christian practice and life.
The trinity
we believe in the one true god, who is one in essence and exists eternally as three distinct persons who are equal with eachother in deity, power and glory.
GOD, THE FATHER
We believe in god the father, the first person of the trinity, who is the creator of heaven and earth.
Jesus Christ
we believe in jesus christ, the secodn person of the trinity and the only begotten son of god, who was born of the virgin mary, suffered under pontius pilate, who was crucified, who died, who was buried and who ressurected after three days.
The holy spirit
we believe in the holy spirit, the third person of the trinity, who indwells all believers and who will remain in and with us until the end of our days.
The second coming
we believe that jesus christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish his kingdom. this will occur at a date undisclosed by the scriptures.
Salvation
we believe that salvation comes by grace through faith and that no human effort, ritual or work can earn our salvation. it is by the grace of god through the power of the holy spirit that sanctifies us, allowing us to live in a way that pleases god and progessively transforms us to become more like jesus christ.
The sacrements
at new wine church, we hold to these 3 sacrements as instituted by god:
water baptism
Following faith in the lord jesus christ, the new believer is commanded by the word of god to be baptized in water in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. matthew 28:19, acts 2:38, mark 16:16, acts 8:12, 36-38, and acts 10:47-48.
the lord’s supper (communion)
a unique and specialized time of communion in the presence of god when the elements of bread and wine are taken in remberence of jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for the salvation of the world. mathhew 26:26-29, 1 corinthians 10:16 and 1st corinthians 11:23-25.
marriage
we believe marriage is defined in the bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before the eyes of god. matthew 19:4-6, Genesis 2:24
